"When Pomme Foods opened across from the Jewel store in Barrington, we stopped in to check it out, and we really enjoyed the homemade soups and prepared foods, as well as the wonderful cheeses. This spring we asked the chef/owner Erin to provide the food for a 20-person dinner party at our home. The meal, which included rack of lamb, grilled salmon steaks, and homemade strawberry-rhubarb tart, was not just delicious, it was exceptional. The freshness of Erin's ingredients, combined with the thoughtfulness of her preparation of each dish, made for a truly memorable evening. We can't say whether it is Erin's Cordon Bleu training or her time at Alice Waters' Chez Panisse, or just her natural gift for cooking, but Erin's food ranks with the best meals we've had in fine restaurants in Chicago and elsewhere. We feel very fortunate to have a chef of Erin's caliber in Barrington; it makes moving out of the city a lot more palatable!"
